A dainty hotelier with a black belt in Karate, meet the gentle and ever accommodating Mahua Narayan, MD Ambrosia and joint secretary Ambrosia Institute of Hotel Management, who has her head firmly on her shoulders and believes that ‘Hotel is your Home amplified!’
As Joint Secretary, Ambrosia Institute of Hotel Management, which was launched in 2007 and is affiliated to the University of Pune, Mahua has been sharing her expertise and teaching students communications and computer practicals along with French and production practicals.
Under her wings she transformed Ambrosia into a food haven by launching the spacious ‪‎Frangipani restaurant‬, the cosy in-house Patisserie‬, the Xanadu Lounge‬ and the exotic Amalfi restaurant‬. From the neatly manicured landscaped lawns to the swanky interiors, all her restaurants reflect her keen sense of aesthetics and her eye for detail!
Mahua took the reigns of running the restaurant at a tender age of 21 and learnt the tricks of the trade from her parents, both lawyers who taught her humility above everything else. She further honed her skills by completing her post graduation in hospitality from Switzerland.
She is in the hospitality business for the past 14 years and has made a mark for herself in this male dominated domain. Today Mahua has a 140 plus staff working for her and manages the procedural policies and the humane aspect for the staff with ease.
Her areas of expertise are business development, legal issues, cooking, finance and basically anything and everything that comes under hospitality.
Her dream is to make Ambrosia a destination place for weddings, corporate events and family functions. A 4 star property complete with a spa is on the way for a memorable experience!

Besides her culinary skills (she has specialised in Lebanese food) and baking art (she loves making 3D cakes for her patisserie), Mahua is a 4th Dan Black Belt who has learnt self defence techniques and is now learning the Samurai Sword. Mahua a graduate in Computer Science, Hospitality, Postgraduate in Hospitality Management, Masters in Labour Law, is now pursuing LLB to quench her quest for knowledge.
Apart from her illustrious degrees, she also has quite a few awards in her kitty! She has won the prestigious vocational excellence award for hospitality from Rotary International.
A very big Thank You to the multi faceted Mahua Narayan for graciously accepting the prominent role of The LadyBug mentor. May her experience and expertise benefit aspiring and upcoming LadyBug Entrepreneurs.
